NCTE Recognition

Geeta College of Education is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the statutory body under whose authority a B.Ed. programme is run in India.

The Northern Regional Committee of NCTE first granted recognition on 21 September 2007 (Order No. F.NRC/NCTE/F73/HR-808/2007/28561, file code 04204) for a one-year B.Ed. course with an annual intake of 100 students.

Following the NCTE Regulations, 2014, which moved B.Ed. nationally from a one-year to a two-year programme, NCTE's Common Revised Recognition Order dated 5 June 2015 confirmed continued recognition for the two-year B.Ed. programme from the 2015-16 academic session, at the same sanctioned intake of 100 (file HR-808, serial no. 11 on the order).

Governance

Society Registration

Geeta College of Education is run by Geeta Shikshan Samiti, the society registered for this purpose.

Geeta Shikshan Samiti was first registered on 28 June 1996 (Registration No. 540) with the Registrar of Societies, Chandigarh. On 28 January 2014, under the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Societies Act, 2012, the District Registrar of Societies, Sonipat issued a revised Certificate of Registration allotting the Samiti a new registration number, 06 008 2014 0047 6, with its registered office at Village Butana, Tehsil Gohana, District Sonepat, and Haryana as its area of operation.

The Samiti's amended constitution (Sept 2026 copy) sets out its membership categories and fees, and a governing body of five officers, a President, Vice-President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer, plus four executive members, elected for a three-year term.

Land

Land

The land the college is built on was gifted to Geeta Shikshan Samiti and carries the Gram Panchayat's no-objection.

A registered gift deed (Hiba Nama), Registration No. 5854, Book No. 1, registered at the Sub-Registrar's office, Gohana on 11 February 2008, transferred 12 kanal 7 marla of land at Butana Kundu to Geeta Shikshan Samiti. The deed records the land's value as ₹8,50,000 for stamp duty purposes.

The Gram Panchayat of Butana Kundu confirmed, by a No Objection Certificate dated 28 March 2015, that it has no objection to the Samiti's use of this land for the college, and that the land falls within the village's Lal Dora (habitation) boundary. A separate certificate of the same date, following a personal inspection by the Sarpanch and all Panchs, records that the land and building are used exclusively for the teacher-training course, that the building is complete and safe, and that no construction work is left unfinished.

Building

Building

The college building has twice been certified safe and complete by a registered architect.

S. L. Verma, Registered Architect (M.C. Gohana), certified on 30 December 2006 that the building constructed by Geeta Shikshan Samiti for the B.Ed. college at V.P.O. Butana was complete and safe in all respects, built with first-class material.

A further Building Completion and Safety Certificate from the same architect, dated 26 March 2015, certifies that the land and building are used exclusively for the teacher-training programme, that the campus is barrier-free with no temporary structure or asbestos/tin-sheet sheds, that fire-hazard safeguards are provided throughout, and that the building is constructed to the provisions and bye-laws of the Bureau of Indian Standards, structurally sound and safe for educational use.

Health

Health & Hygiene

The campus is inspected annually for hygiene by the Sub Divisional Civil Hospital, Gohana.

Following an inspection, the Sub Divisional Civil Hospital, Baroda Road, Gohana, Sonipat issued a Hygienic Certificate on 30 October 2025, recording the building as in good condition with satisfactory water supply, washrooms and ventilation, and the campus as situated in a pollution-free environment.
