About IQAC
What is the IQAC?
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a standard quality-sustenance body that Indian higher education institutions are expected to establish, in line with the UGC’s National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) framework. Rather than being an external, one-time check, the IQAC is designed to work from within an institution, building quality consciousness into everyday academic and administrative processes.
Its core task is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve academic and administrative performance, translating a college’s institutional goals into a set of measurable, quality-related parameters. This includes fostering better teaching-learning practices, encouraging self-evaluation, promoting the use of technology, and channelling feedback from students, faculty and other stakeholders into concrete institutional improvement.
For a teacher-education institution such as GCE Butana, recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the IQAC also plays a role in keeping the college’s internal processes aligned with the standards expected by the regulatory and affiliating bodies it answers to.

IQAC Composition
The IQAC of a college is typically constituted with the Principal as chairperson, alongside senior faculty, administrative staff, and external stakeholder representatives.
